I am a long long term user of Homesite, started using it back when it was 1.0beta
Anyway I have been looking at a replacement for Homesite now for a while since it appears as if it is being abandoned and not updated by Adobe.... or if it does get updated I imagine the price tag will be typical high Adobe prices....
These are all based on what works VERY well in Homseite
So my requests please, and please point me to the relevant post, article, faq etc if these have already been answered and my searching has not enabled me to find the info.
1. Colored HTML tags, so that <img, <table, <form etc can be different colors. Mainly for <img as it helps me locate the image tags amongst it all as well as the form tags.
2. Add an image preview menu item from File Explorer i.e right click an image in File Explorer and select Preview - or better yet add a hover over effect to view image.
3. Insert image and/or edit img tag see image in the popup window (so that I know it is what I want)
4. Tabbed toolbars, have the common to the left and then the different elements as tabs like in Homesite for Forms, tables etc
5. Enable the ability to move page tabs below or above the editor area (I have my file browser on the left in Homesite, done the same for WB in trial but the page tabs are still on the far left - move to on top of editor section.
6. Enable the movement of the editor. preview, h-split and v-split to top of editor like in Homesite
7. Add a quick button list to the left of the editor window for things like close window/page, indent, show hide line numbers etc.
Well that is just a few that should make WB truly the best HTML editor in my view.
