"Select Content"-Functiontionality Enhancement

Post by x3po »

Hello,

i often use the feature "select content", i've assigned alt+d as a shortcut to that function.

unfortunately if a tag contains another html tag, the content does not get marked completley, but only until the first next html tag begins:

i think it would be better, if the complete content of the specific tag gets marked, as seen here:

maybe it would also be an idea, that if you press the shortcut once, the first behaviour will happen, and if you press the shortcut once again, the complete tag-content will be marked.

for example, if you edit a page with copy&paste, maybe you update some text, it is really annoying if the tags (e.g. li-elements or something) contain some <strong>-tags or something, then the feature is almost useless like it is now.

Do you see any chances of getting this issue improved?

Hello,

as an idea how to implement that, i would suggest the behaviour of pressing the shortcut for "select content" multiple times, like the "rename file" feature of my favorite windows file manager, speed commander.

The Behaviour there is like that:

1. click on a file that you want to rename:

2. press F2 first time:

3. press F2 second time:

4. press F2 third time:

5. if you press F2 again you'll start at step 2 again. and so on an on.

I think that would be a great feature for the "select content" feature.
