Paste Filenames

Postby ErikI » Fri Dec 15, 2017 9:49 pm

I'm a former Homesite user. That program used to let you select a number of files from the file navigator on the left and drag them into the code editor window on the right. When dragged it would create either an IMG tag or an A HREF in the editor window. WeBuilder lets me do this one at a time but when I'm pasting hundreds of images from an image directory into code, it is a huge pain to have to retype them all or drag them one at a time. Any way to get this to happen with all selected images? Or maybe a workaround I can use?

Thanks!
Erik

Unfortunately dragging multiple images isn't supported. What's your use case, why do you need to do this a lot?

It could probably be done using a plugin with Chromium window with drag&drop, similar to my Image2CSS plugin.

Then you could drag multiple images onto the Chromium window and capture the path/filename and then insert the image tags into the editor.

Update: Turns out that Chrome doesn't expose the path of drag/drop files. And WeBuilder's plugin API doesn't allow multiselection of files, so I guess it won't be possible. :(
