Animating pics

Postby MySpaceFoxes » Wed Feb 15, 2006 7:50 am

Question, I created an animated Gif using 22 pics, yet, when I upload to MySpace at roughly 382k (size limit is 600k) on MySpace, it only rotates through the first 6 images.

Is there a size limitation to the # of pics? Here is the URL to the pic.

I am using the full registered version of this software, version 3.

I've created smaller Gif animations with no problems.

Thanks so much in advance ![/img]

follow up

When I take certain pics out, it will increase the number of pics it will show, yet, I am not sure why the animation gets "stuck" on certain pics and goes back to the first image.

Any ideas, thoughts?

When I play the animation inside GIF Animation, it plays fines.

Any ideas?

Postby MySpaceFoxes » Thu Feb 16, 2006 4:29 pm

Ok, when I delete certain pics, the Animation will move to the next pic or two. I tried a shorter animation, with only 12 pics.

It will rotate from 1 thru say, pic 7, skipping pics 8 - 11 and go back to the first pic.

If I open the file, remove pic 8, this leaves 11 pics, and it will rotate from pic 1 thru pic 9, skipping pic 10 and 11 and go back to the first pic.

All pics being loaded into the file are Jpegs. Do I need to save them as anything special in photoshop?

Any ideas why certain Jpgs cause the program to stop at them, and go back to the first?

Is anyone going to repond to this thread?

I did buy your software. Thank you kindly in advance.

It should work with any number of images. Could it be that the image was altered during upload to MySpace?

I did try to open the image URL you specified and indeed in web browser it did not show all images, however after I opened in in the GIF Animator and saved from there, it started to work just fine. This means that most likely the image was either corrupted or limited during upload or by MySpace.

not sure...

I dont know if anything happened in the upload, usually, if there is a problem, it won't upload at all. When I take certain pics out, it seems the Animation will advance a little further. However when using those same images in another animation, they work fine.

Now we are 100% sure that the GIF Animator generated good file and it got corrupted later.

Here is what I did:
1) Downloaded the corrupted file which displays only several frames.
2) Opened it in Easy GIF Animator.
3) Saved (just clicked Save).
4) Tested it and it worked fine.
5) Uploaded it to my site and it still worked fine.

You may want to inquire about this your hosting company...

weird

Postby Myspacefoxes » Sun Mar 12, 2006 6:14 pm

what is weird, is I have uploaded pic like this before without a problem.

I tried to make a new one, and there is a diff pic that now causes that glitch, and where ever I move that pic, that is where the glitch occurs.

I uploaded to Imageshack, and the animation works fine.

Not sure why the animation works on all but one particular pic.

Well, thanks for looking into this, stinks I cannot figure out why some animations work, and some do not.
