I'm seriously considering buying Webuilder at the moment.

My main reason for holding back is not knowing when you'll upgrade your version number to 10.x.
For me (and others ?) it would be a bit strang when we just bought a product and have to pay extra again for an upgrade.
Do you have some grace period in which people who have bought a previous version can upgrade for free to the new version?
Do you have any timeline when you're bringing out a new upgrade ?

My third degree questions aside, it's still a great peace of kit!

I appreciate your concerns. So I'll share our plans...

This should be a year of change. According to the current schedule, we hope to release version 10 between May and July. Most likely it will be tagged 2010 and it could have a lifespan that is longer than 1 year. Unless something drastic happens to the economy, we are almost sure the pricing will stay the same. The free-upgrades (grace) period will be 3 months or more prior to the new release and upgrade price will most likely stay the same.

We still plan to develop and add substantial new features to version 2008, so there should be no feeling that the work on version 2008 has stopped. If you buy 2008 now, you will get free updates and new features for almost half a year.

I maintain that you can not go wrong by getting the product as soon as possible, if it helps you do the job better and if your job earns money. Moreover your investment directly fuels further development and ensures that you are using a software that will be supported in the future.

I would recommend buying the product. Even if you have to pay for the upgrade its worth it. You even get a discount on upgrades if you already own an earlier version.
Or you can spend a paycheck or two on dreamweaver.

I agree totally with Elygen,

The product is worth getting as soon as you can. For one it means you will have learned to work with it so you have less of a learning curve for the new version.

I was in a similar position when I got my first copy, but since using the product I wish I had got hold of it far sooner. It is now my main development tool, and though I do also have far more expensive products (I mean FAR more) I only use them for small aspects of my work (Things that they do extreamly well that no-one else does) But always, always, always, my main development is done with WeBuilder.

Simply put. It is the best development tool I have ever used (And I have used more than a few)

A larger update is on its way, most likely it would arrive in late February. Also German version will be updated soon.

Yes, but the FULL version CORRESPONDS to the current trial! Anyways we will be moving to language files within the next 6 months and hope that this would solve the fuss for our respected German-speaking customers. We are aware of the present inconveniences.
