How to copy configuration file to another Inet Protector

Postby alateos » Fri Oct 20, 2006 4:16 am

Hi,

I recently purchased 20 licenses of Inet protector. I've configured one exactly like I want it (it was a pain in the butt configuring allowing the multiple urls on each page of yahoo mail). Anyway, I would like to copy the whole configuration of Inet Protector to the other future copies that I will install.

can you please tell me how? Thanks.

Apologies for delay. Only just got around installing this on my test machine.

It appears everything is stored in the registry, so you can export to a .reg file, and simply import this .reg file on each PC by double clicking it.

If you know what you're doing, simply export the following registry leg:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Karlis Blumentals\iNet Protector\1.0

If you need a batch file to do it, simply create a .bat file with this line:
regedit /e settings.reg "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Karlis Blumentals\iNet Protector\1.0"

To import this, simply type
regedit filename

Yell if you've any problems.

The procedure is as follows:
1) Install iNet Protector on all of PCs
2) Configure it on one PC
3) Click Start -> Run, enter regedit and click OK
4) Locate and right-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Karlis Blumentals\iNet Protector
5) Click Export key, this will allow to save your settings to reg file.
6) Take this file to other PCs, log in as administrator and double click the reg file.
