AVG virus update as allowed site

Postby neil » Wed Feb 28, 2007 8:39 pm

I have entered the AVG virus update website address as an allowed site but when I start my computer, access to update the virus program is not allowed. If I close the AVG program, and then restart the AVG program, access is allowed. How can this be changed so that the program does not have to be closed and re-opened to make the access work.

Most likely the AVG also tries to access other website and it fails thus it does not pursue the updating. You should find out all web addresses and IPs that AVG anti-virus needs to connect to OR you can put the AVG anti-virus program in the list of allowed programs.

If you want to put the AVG to the allowed list, you should find out which executable from the AVG folder is responsible for updating and allow that one or if you do not know, allow all programs from AVG.

Hope this helps.
