iNet Protector not working due to a bug in AVG Anti-Virus
Note: Only customers having AVG Anti-Virus installed are affected.
Due to a fault in AVG Anti-Virus software, iNet Protector may be malfunctioning on computers where AVG Anti-virus is installed. This is because AVG Anti-Virus blocks iNet Protector and does not allow it to provide service to user. Chances are that AVG will eventually block some other programs from working properly.
Solving the problem
Disable AVG Anti-Virus
1) Double-click AVG tray icon to launch AVG Control Center
2) Select Resident Shield and click Properties
3) Uncheck Turn on AVG Resident Shield
4) Click OK and restart your computer.
Uninstall AVG Anti-Virus completely (if the above step does not work)
1) Uninstall AVG Anti-Virus and
2) Select another Anti-Virus software of your choice. We recommend Nod32 from www.eset.com Our research has proved that Nod32 is not only the fastest, but also one of the most stable Anti-Virus systems. The final choice is yours.
If you want to keep AVG, ask them to fix the problem
1) Visit http://www.grisoft.com/doc/support-tech ... t/us/crp/0
2) Follow the instructions and submit request to solve this conflict
3) IMPORTANT: Tell them our product name (iNet Protector) and the website http://www.blumentals.net/inetprot/
4) Repeat this every couple of days until the problem is solved, because this is their responsibility.
We are currently searching for a workaround, in case AVG developers fail to fix their product. It should be no long before you can use AVG and iNet Protector fully enabled at the same time.
