Cannot communicate with a certain IP

Postby alateos » Sun Aug 05, 2007 6:33 pm

This is very weird... Inet was working perfectly. I added an IP in one of my exceptions list. Now I can't access that IP regardless of whether the Internet is enabled or not. It's very important that I can communicate with this ip address. What can I do?

Have you tried removing the IP from your exception to see if that 'clears' it?

I've tried the following:
- Adding/removing that IP from the list (doesn't work)
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Inet Protector (doesn't work)
- Uninstalling and deleting all registry keys for Karlis Blumentals (doesn't work)

Can you access this IP fine from another machine OK? If you uninstall Inet Protector can you then access this IP OK?

Are you sure that it isn't something else or that the problem was not present before? This looks very weird indeed. Adding IPs to the list should in no case break anything. Maybe you changed other settings as well?

If you want to remove the registry key completely you should do it after you have uninstalled and restarted, otherwise some settings might remain.
