Allowing Intranet access with Win 8.1 or 10

Postby TheWeeklyGeek » Wed May 11, 2016 1:35 am

With Windows 7x32 or 7x64 I can allow internal access to computers that have web pages by simply adding the computer name under "Allowed Sites".
This does not work with Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
Yes, I have also added the IP address under Allowed Sites and allowed IPs.
so the computer name and IP are "exempted" but I cannot access the web page.

Could you try Learning Mode, access the internal web sites and check what comes up in the results?

Thanks you, however that just allowed IE to access all internet.
I did find that if I use the static IP of the computer it works with other computers. The other computers in the network can open the web based page.
I however cannot get the host computer to allow itself. I entered its static IP and 127.0.0.1 in the Allowed IPs. Under Allowed Sites I entered 'localhost'.
Neither has worked for me.

When you use the learning mode, you can selectively check what to allow in the last step, so just leave the IP addresses that get detected checked but uncheck things that you don't want to have full access (e.g. IE).

Thank you, that did work.
I went back on the machine that it did not work on (It tried to exempt IE completely) and it had version 4.6 on it so I updated it too.
