NAV-BAR

Postby californiagospel » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:41 am

Good Afternoon
I purchased this program in Oct 2010. Had problems with getting it to work. Got discussed with it. So it quite beatting my head against the wall.
Decided to try it again (smile).

I am still having the same problems. Some of the Nav-Bars work on some of my pages and some don't. (www.gospelontheseas.com) I have deleted the Nav-Bar on all the pages.
re-published my pages without the Nav-Bar. Cleaned my cookies.

Re-try the Nav-Bar (16 times) and still get the same problem of some pages work some pages the Nav-Bar is Wack. I have gone in and deleted everything, all the gif. from my website, and used new button menus with the same problem.

Can you take a peek and see where I have gone astray.
Thanks Liz

It looks like you have created the menu using option "Place images in the *same* directory where the web page is", and you have put the images on the root of your page (such as http://www.gospelontheseas.com/mb_home_2.gif), which works fine for pages like http://www.gospelontheseas.com/index.html or http://www.gospelontheseas.com/Group-Leader.html and others that are located directly on http://www.gospelontheseas.com/*.html. However, for page http://www.gospelontheseas.com/Reservat ... tCard.html the directory ir "Reservation", so it is trying to load the images and scripts from this directory (i.e. http://www.gospelontheseas.com/Reservat ... home_2.gif) and of course they are not there.

You have multiple ways to fix this, whichever is more convenient for you:
1) Place all pages (that contain navigation menu) on the main directory of the web site, don't use subfolders;
2) Copy image and script files to all subfolders, that contain the pages with navigation, too; Don't forget to do this again if you change your menu;
3) Create special directory for menu images and scripts and make the navigation menus use this directory - see http://kb.blumentals.net/kb/index.php?V ... ntryID=134

Good Afternoon Aivars

I thank you for your quick response. Step #1 is out of the question. The Nav-Bar would be too long. The whole idea of your software is to have a pull down menu. I am going with Step #3.
I am praying this will cause all of the Nav-Bars to show correctly. If not, (Like Patton and Arnold I'll Be BACK!!)smile.

I think you misunderstood the solution #1 - the idea is to move files like CreditCard.html from /Reservation/CreditCard.html to /CreditCard.html and change all links that point to the page (not change the menu appearance). But actually #3 would be the best one.
