I don`t know if i`m blind but i can`t find this feature in 7.0.1.64?

If you upgraded from a 6.x version, the old layouts will prevent some of the new features from showing up as I dsicovered. Delete your old layouts and it should appear

you don't have to delete your old ones but switch to default or Full or something. Then integrate the new stuff into your saved layouts.

It'd be cool if there was a 'new items menu' that you could add to your existing layouts. For instance, I run webuilder with 5 menus up top - scanning through 14 top level menus is too many for me. When a new version comes out, I'd love to run with 6 for a while with the 6th one being populated entirely by 'new' menu items - that way you don't miss things but can still remain productive with your customized layout.
