The Break Tab

Postby Hollywood Bob » Sat Mar 27, 2004 12:42 am

When I click on the Break Tab ( br ) to insert a break, I always get
instead of the opening tag of
.

Can anyone tell me how to change this on my tool bar, so that I can just click on the break tab and get
.

thank you

I use this often and have no problem. Since the break is a one time only (e.g. no opening tab
with an associated closing tag
), it does not seem there should be a problem.

Does it not work correctly for you?
is the 'proper' way to define a line-break. It's to do with the fact that all tags need to be closed under XHTML ( the latest standard ).
is technically open, the / just closes it straight away.

btw there should be a space between the br and /, as there is the odd browser which doesn't understand it otherwise.

I'm using HTMLPad Pro 5.25 and can confirm that the break button now inserts the correct
tag.
