Intellisense Issues

Postby misterfood » Thu Nov 11, 2004 1:32 pm

Hi,

I've just registered a copy of HTML Pad Pro and overall I'm very pleased with the product. I do, however, have a small issue with Intellisense.

Intellisense seems to work off of the extension of the file being worked on e.g. .HTM, .PHP etc.

What it does NOT cater for is, for instance, a PHP script with embedded HTML in it. If you edit a PHP script, Intellisense will only act on the PHP reserved words and will not provide any support for HTML which may also be present in the script.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Arlo.

Thank you for your question.

Auto Complete works for HTML tags only in HTML code whether it is HTML code in PHP or HTML file. Unfortunately Auto Complete can not work inside <? and ?> since that is no more HTML so it is not possible to tell whether you are writing HTML tag or just "<" sign or anything else. Software can not read user's mind, thus the Auto Complete feature for HTML is not present in PHP blocks.

it is irrational to use the < just as a < sign anywhere outside a comment block.

It seems at the beginning, but many people do use it. I have tested various PHP codes. Example: "Somebody <user@domain.com>"
