Rapid PHP, bugs and features

Postby thargy » Fri Feb 04, 2005 5:34 pm

Dear Sir,

A fantastic beta. I am an active PHPEdit user but what gettting a little frustrated with the frequent crashes, and slowness of that programme so I thought I'd give your's a trial and a potential buy.

However there's a few things that are missing and the odd bug (not suprising for a beta though).

Most critically of course is the lack of a debugger... is this in development, a future aspiration or not an option?

The syntax checker is really nice, except it's buggy, after you use it on a few files it generates a 'Long line - increase buffer length' error message, which repeats annoyingly several 100 times before you can get rid of it. And only restarting will fix the problem - essentially making it useless.

The preview pane's are buggy - as mentioned in other posts.

No built in autocompletions as yet - probably you'll add these later as the functionality is already there. e.g. auto statement building on typing 'if' or 'switch'

Split code screen ala Visual Studio/Office would be real great, you're already doing split screen preview

However, it's quick, and that's a big plus for me - the FTP stuff is handy as well.

Add a good debugger and fix a few bugs and you've got a real hit on your hands...until then it's back to PHPEdit for me :(

Thank you for your message. It seems that you have old version, because it is out of bet now.

line - increase buffer length' error message

Unfortunately I could not reproduce this. Probably you have extremely long or specific PHP file. You can send it to us via e-mail.

No built in autocompletions

You can use PHP toolbar button for this purpose.
