auto replace and umlauts

Postby Thomas » Fri May 27, 2005 5:07 pm

Hi,

just testing your editor, looks goos so far.

When i enter text, i like to have the german umlauts (Ƥ, ƶ, ..) automatically be changed to the appropriate entity. Therefore i added the following entries to the "auto replace" section:

Ƥ -> ä
Ć„ -> Ä

Unfortunately the auto replace function does not work as the uppercase Ć„ is not converted to the Ä entity but to ä (the lowercase).

Thx
Thomas

it should be good, not goos :)

the entities are

Code: Select all

Ƥ - & a uml;
Ć„ - & A uml;

Thank you for your question.

Auto replace is for replacing whole words or tokens.

For converting special characters, you must write your text as is, select it and then use Edit -> Convert Special Chars -> Special Chars to Entities
