Hi Guys:
I'm no expert in this, so please bear with me. I am on Windows 8. I have set up apache from XAMPP with several virtual hosts, one for each of my sites, and mappings like these (in an apache conf file):
DocumentRoot "D:/Garry/Documents/Web Site/www_mygames"
ServerName mygames.localhost
....
DocumentRoot "D:/Garry/Documents/Web Site/www_mycharts"
ServerName mycharts.localhost
...
When I fire up apache, these work just fine in a browser, so I know I've got that part right.
Presumably, to use apache with Webuilder, I would go to Options > Preferences > Preview > Mappings and map "D:/Garry/Documents/Web Site/www_mygames" to "http://mygames.localhost". Then I'd fire up apache and all would be fine.
But.. but.... all WOULD be fine if these mappings were defined on a per-project basis, rather than being globals. Since they are globals, as far as I can see I would have to change the mappings each time I switch between projects (and sites).
Is that correct?
=============
And another question. What is the difference between using the internal server and an external server to view php files? I wrote a test php file (that included file paths such as "../graphics/historyofthebiblepodcastlogo.png") which worked fine in a browser when using the external apache server, but when using the Webuilder internal server, it failed to locate the referenced image. Does the internal server start from a different root or something?
Yours,
Garry
