So, I uninstalled 2014, asking to keep settings and installed 2015 but it doesn't appear to have kept any settings at all. The layout has defaulted to one of you presets (my saved layout from 2014 not in the list of Manage Layouts). Coding colour settings have all defaulted back to your defaults etc etc. I tried Import Settings to import my saved 2014 settings but that hasn't done anything either. How can I get may layout and colouring settings back (among other things) as I spent a long time getting it all just right?

*Edit*
This was Webuilder, BTW. But not to worry, it seems most settings were still there, the code colours just needed reloading and the layout didn't take too long to reorganise... but would have been nice if the layout could have been picked up.

Layout settings are different, they are indeed lost when upgrading. It's related to fact that during upgrades visual things get changed or reorganized and it's not always clear, for an example, what to do if things added in the new version conflict with your customizations. There are also technical reasons related to the fact that we don't store any information which things are new and which are old so it's difficult to just add the new stuff to your customizations.
