ALT key on keyboard

I'm testing the trial version of RapidPHP and I don't understand a couple of things.

1. Why I can't manually add brackets {} to my code by pressing ALT+123 and ALT+125 but I have to use the menu shortcut? Actually I may not add any character by using ALT+ keys.
2. I noticed that brackets are added to the code not where the cursor is positioned, but every time at the beginning of the row for example:

Suppose I have the following code, when I add class_3 brackets are added at the beginning of the next row and a space is added before the opening bracket:

How can this be avoided?

I think your Alt+<numbers> combinations are interpreted as navigation keys (arrows, home). We are aware that some Alt+<numbers> combinations don't work well in the editors but it's more difficult to fix than it sounds. For now you just have to use { and } keys on the keyboard.

Thank you for you prompt answer. Maybe you are wondering why I use ALT+<number> to type brackets? Sorry, I forgot to say that italian keyboards do not have the keys for { and } !!

Sounds like it's very difficult to code for Italians since most of the popular languages use { and } extensively
Anyways a kind of workaround could be declaring snippets in Library (menu View -> Library) for { and } and assigning some shortcut keys to them.

O, God, poor italian developers! I understand why I don't know any programmers from Italy now - they haven't brackets
