Search & Replace with regex. Bug or missing feature?

Postby pmk65 » Sun Jul 30, 2017 12:51 pm

If I in the Find & Replace" dialog, turn on the "Regular expressions" option, I can search for Linefeed as "\n".
This works fine, but when I in the "Replace with" box, enters something like "ABC\n'" it doesn't replace the linefeed with "ABC" (+linefeed)
Instead it inserts the replacement string literally at the beginning of the next line.

These 3 regex non-printable characters: "\n" (Carriage return), "\r" (Linefeed) and "\t" (Tab) should at least be available in the "Replace with" box.
There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary and those who don't.

This is a missing feature and it has been requested. I'll +1 it.
