Bug: Save to FTP doesn't check if file is already present

When using the "Save to FTP" option, there's no check if file is already present. As a result it ALWAYS overwrites existing file.

Shouldn't that be the default behavior? I'd only want to be warned when the file on the target was newer that the file I wanted to upload. I say this because I've been using a product that asks far too often, which gets in the way and slows things down.

Alternatively, I'd want to control the behavior via settings.

It's possible that you clicked "Don't ask again" at some point. Go to File Explorer -> FTP, click the gear icon and in the General tab look for Display Overwrite prompt checkbox.

I didn't even notice those settings options on the FTP pane. Why aren't they in Options | Preferences?

I'm not sure, probably because the UX designer was afraid to make the settings dialog even more scary than it already is :)

I certainly think the UI needs a lot of work. But I also think that settings needs a nexus, one place to go to find everything instead of having settings scattered around.

In the case of FTP settings, make the gear icon in the FTP panel open the main Preferences dialog in an FTP section. Of course, that means adding the FTP settings to the Preferences system first.

I probably did what you suggested, checking "Don't ask again" at some point. To undo that, I would have naturally looked in Preferences and of course in this case come up short.
