Animated gif, drop shadows only showing on text

Postby stinhambo » Tue Sep 04, 2007 4:06 am

Hi all,

I am trying to create a screensaver from an animated gif I have been given. The screensaver itself works ok but the text on screen is a bit crappy.

It should be white with a drop shadow but instead, the white is not there and only the drop shadow remains.

Otherwise it all works great!

Any ideas on what I can do here?

Also the 'disable dual monitor support' tickbox is not sticking.

I suspect the white is somehow being set as the transparent colour?
Does the screensaver display the animated GIF ok? (ie, the animation is playing). Is it possible to post the .GIF file? (use Rapidshare.com if you want somewhere to host it)
Have you tried editing the .gif to have a different transparency colour?

In the end I got the Photoshop file and output each 'frame' as a Jpg then put it together in Screensaver Factory.

Looks pretty good actually!

The only problem with the dual monitor support is that each monitor displays alternate frames... Hopefully you can address this in 4.5?

It would be better if you sent us the GIF file for inspection so that we can provide you with a better solution. Send it to software[at]latnet.lv
