FFDSHOW

Postby qwertyuiop » Mon Dec 10, 2007 1:15 pm

Good morning, I compile Mpeg-2 videos on screensavers with your Screensaver Factory 4 Standard (I registered it), however while on my pc they run well, on some pc I see only a black screen. I think some pc has not Mpeg-2 codec (it is right?), so could I install the FFDSHOW filters to solve the problem?
Thank you very much!

Yes, the FFDSHOW could correct the problem. Usually all Win XP, Vista PCs should be able to play mpeg-2 without any problem, except if user has replaced built-in drivers with some non-original (probably faulty) drivers.

I think they should work. You can try it and see for yourself.

The FFDSHOW consumes way less CPU power than original DivX or XviD codecs, even with maximum post-processing. At the same time the post-processing seems to give excellent quality results and allows more configuring than the original DivX codec. It can even automaticly reduce post-processing if your CPU is getting overloaded. The noise filter adds a kind of a rasterising effect to the picture - might be useful in some cases.
