file not found (win 7)

Postby Pekay06 » Mon Dec 12, 2011 5:38 pm

Hi,

i purchased your software 6 hours ago. We tried to create a *.scr file. When i save this *.scr file in Windows/system32 and link it to the control panel there comes "file not found" and "i/0 error 103". Are there any solutions for this problem? I have to give a screensaver to my emloyee on fryday.

Regards

Solved

I copied the *.scr file to Windows/system32 because i found the original Windows Screensavers there. I think this was the mistake. To copy the *.scr to Windows solved the problem for me.

Microsoft have made things a little bit confusing by their 32-bit and 64-bit versions but basically you're right, these screensavers won't work when installed under system32 folder in 64-bit windows: http://kb.blumentals.net/kb/index.php?V ... ntryID=127

Hi. Are these things supposed to be automatic once installed? I mean paste the desired files to respective folders depending on which OS you are using? Just a thought tho.

Just install them under Windows or Program Files and NOT Windows\System32 and you'll be fine. More info under the link I provided earlier.
