What trojan did it detect?
Does it do it for every screensaver you've created, or just one?

Its possible it could be a false positive. Could you create a simple screensaver, and upload it somewhere to download? Or email it to me. Thanks.

This happened to me with another screensaver I was using a few years ago, which is the main reason I came to start using SSF

I had to rebuild all my savers with SSF and reupload them, etc.

I sure hope this isn't going to be a major problem again!

Most likely this is caused by someone's distributing of adware or other applications within an installer and not notifying the end user properly, hence a trojan, or extra hidden installation.

I just scanned some of my .scr files with SpySweeper and they're clean for now. But usually when one of these antispyware softwares start alerting, they all eventually do.

Hope that's not the case this time and that it's just a false alert!!

Please keep us posted!

Postby peyman_rsa » Wed Jan 09, 2008 9:33 am

Hello Dear chrisjlocke
1- My Mcafee virus scan detected PSW-Banker trojan and erased my screensaver.scr file of my computer and also erased screensaver.exe file in other partion of my hard disk!
2- Yes, all screensaver files on the 3 computer created by me.
3- This now time Our Mcafee virus scan not detect any trojan in my computer and other our systems .
I think this problem happening in specific time, because this problem happened on the our computers in same day.
Have a nice day.
Warmest Regard.

So if you create a new screensaver, it doesn't detect any trojan?
You've lost your screensaver file, but I presume you can still recreate it from the project files you've got.

Could it be that McAfee have fixed the problem? I tested the latest McAfee recently and it did not find any problem.

If the problem persists, I urge you to a) contact Mcafee directly (because you are paying customer and they must listen) b) contact us, so that we can contact McAfee as well.
