Text Selection Bug

Post by Mot »

Let's say I need to search and replace a sub-string of text. So, for instance, I might need to change:

music1.php to video1.php

So I double click on the "music1" part of the text which selects the word up to the period. Then I Shift+LeftArrow to deselect the "1" portion so only "music" is selected. But the selection changes so I get something like "usic" instead of the expected "music"

It's also somewhat inconsistent in that it might get something like just "ic" after the Shift+LeftArrow. But it only seems to be whacked out if you double click to initially select the text. If I start at the beginning of the word, Ctrl+RightArrow to select the word, then Shift+LeftArrow to shorten the selection, it works fine.

Thanks.

It seems the 'somewhat inconsistent' part depends on where you initially double click. Double click on the first letter, for example, and it works as expected.
Unfortunately, although its annoying, as its not a great 'show stopper', it may be low down on the bug-fix list.

Thanks for pointing it out though!
