I figured it out--thinking it was probably a transparency issue, I unchecked "Transparency." However, I neglected to do this for each and every slide in the animation by selecting it, then deselecting "Transparency." Once I did that everything was fine.

I'm trying to resize some animated GIFs (banners and skyscrapers) to a smaller size. Generally, on each frame there's a different image and different text, but the positioning of each does not change.
