I stumbled across the software "Internet Access Controller" by Gear Box Computers today. It looks like a clone of iNet Protector. What is your relationship with Gear Box Computers?

Re: Blocking changes to system time
Kollo that would be awsome if u could tell me how i can make it so that no one (not even admin) can change system time only the system itself with its time sync. Administrators should be able to change system time! If you try to limit what administrators can do you will never succeed. There will ...

Re: Securing iNet Protector service
A standard user should not be able to deactivate the service "Internet Protector System Service" even if they have access to the Management Console. I checked this out and a standard user can actually do this. It means that at next reboot the the Internet protection will be disabled. It is however ...

Re: Blocking changes to system time
How come the users are able to change the system time? Do their accounts have administrator rights or "Power Users" rights? Because a standard user (called "limited user" on XP) cannot change the system time. If you are letting your users run as administrators they will be able to bypass iNet ...

Re: Secure web sites doesn't work with "Allowed Sites"
Are you saying that iNet Protector doesn't see the address of a secure web site but can see the IP of it? That doesn't make sense to me. If you have the IP you can do a reverse lookup and get the address of the site. I understand it is not possible to filter secure web sites for specific words but ...

Secure web sites doesn't work with "Allowed Sites"
I have trouble getting the "Allowed Sites" feature to work with secure web sites (https, port 443). I use version 3.51 and Ithink it used to work in the previous version I had installed (3.41) by apppending :443 to the site name in the list allowed sites. This doesn't work in 3.51 and no matter what ...

Re: Password-protect "Disable Internet"
Why would anyone try to lock himself or herself out on purpose? Disable Internet is a rather clear label. I agree that it is a clear label but you are so used to having an Undo function these days and the Disable Internet feature doesn't have an Undo function unless you know the password for the ...

Breaking an Internet addiction
I have been using iNet Protector for almost a year to keep myself from surfing on the Internet too much. It works very well at limiting my total time spent on the Internet and stopping me from using Internet too late in the evenings. Thank you for a great product! However I miss a few features that ...

Re: A way to grant a user additional minutes one-time only
I would also like to have this feature.
It is present in other Internet restricting software like e.g. KidsWatch, ENUFF and Child Control.
Ideally it should be implemented as a number of one-time passwords as in Child Control.

iNet Protector 3.4 makes it impossible to login to Windows
I upgraded iNet Protector from version 3.3 to version 3.4 yesterday and it really messed up my computer. When I rebooted my computer I couldn't login to Windows XP anymore. I have a Microsoft Fingerprint reader and the Digital Person login software provided with the the fingerprint reader wouldn't ...

Password-protect "Disable Internet"
Please remove the ability for a normal (non-adminstrator) user to use the "Disable Internet" function without a password. It is too easy for the user to lock himself/herself out of Internet since the user cannot enable the Internet connection again without a password except when in "Internet on ...
