making just the background bigger

Postby LadyCat » Sat Jul 30, 2011 5:49 pm

I don't know if I can explain this but I will try.

I want to add my name to an animation, on the right side for instance. Is there a way I can enlarge the background but leave the animation the original size?
Some of the animations just don't have any place to add my name.

This is an improvement EasyGif needs, LC.
What you are trying to do is place your name somewhere but find it doesn't quite fit so you want to enlarge the background so it fits around your wording without affecting another image you had placed within the same boundary right?

I don't think this is possible within EG and you may have to pick at the sizes of the bakground you want.

I am no techie by the way but I do understand where you are coming from.
I got EG for their special effects personally.

I am sorry to hear that I cannot do what I want with Easy Gif. I did get a response from the tech help that I could do it
but I was only able to so the first frame, then I was supposed to do it manually for each other frame. Of course, they
were all different sizes and jumped around a little and messed the whole thing up..go figure! lol

Maybe they will fix this with an upgrade, I sure hope so:-)

Thank you for your response limewire:-)

I gave another user this response
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5075
Are you after the same effect?

I may have to toy with what I did as it was a long time ago that I did it.
If the techs say you can do it, you can do it.
If you can't post a picture and they will explain stage by stage.
They did the same with me.
Now I teach others with a little experimental time.

is there way to attach a file here? I do have a screenshot that I was sent
about enlarging the background/canvas of the animation , but leaving the animation
the same size. :-)

Forgive my sarcasm but I guess I should've told you this earlier rather than let you suffer how to figure this one out.

You can't attach pictures here on this forum but you can upload them using free sites like photobucket,

Link is below.

Photobucket is the best I have come across.
Create an account.
Upload your picture to their website from your computer
Copy and paste their code here.

:D
Simple once you know how.

Right now you can't change canvas size without resizing the animation. This is the most requested feature currently and will definitely be added for the next version.
The workaround is rather sloppy - you can open 2 instances of easy GIF animator, create empty animation in the 2nd one and copy images frame by frame.

Thank you for the response.

Opening up easy gif twice, etc. is more than I am able or even want to do. :-)

I really hope that when they are is a new upgrade, that they will have this feature. :-)

The link you have pasted for me wasn't 100% what I was looking for.
I see you have three pictures there.
One is a snapshot of your pc showing EasyGif.
The other is a picture of a spring
and the last one is a picture of a person.

What I needed you to do was hover your mouse over the image you wanted posted here in photobucket and it would show you a list of options there such as e-mail and Im, direct link and img code.
I needed you to click on the img code. It will show copied in the box in photobucket and then you post it here.
I went to photobucket myself to get one image of mine pasted below here.

Another question I have for you LadyCat is (and I apologise for getting you to be repetitive) what are you planning to do with your image?
If all you are trying to do is place your name against one side of your picture, most image viewers and editors are able to do that for free.
If what you are trying to do is have your name set in one place whilst the rest of your image revolves, that's another matter.

The two instances of opening EG that Aviars is referring to is, according to one operation he helped me out with, is one where you have two revolving images either side of one another with one piece of wording in the centre not moving at all.
Of course it all depends on your visional aims and he may be referring to something else according to what you are after.

You do have to play around with applications to understand them.
Too much reading of instructions does your head in  .
I know. I often don't bother reading help manuals myself :D .

Speak later.

I hope I finally did this right;-)

Image

Here is an example of what I am wanting to do, just pretend the 2 siamese cats are animated with my name next to them

Image

The problem is, I will find an animation I like but there is no space to the right of it to add my name.
Sheesh, the more I try to explain, the more confused I get..lol

I hope you understand what I am trying to say and that the PhotoBucket IMG links work:-)

Still a nice design you got there. Update us please when you get what you are trying to achieve.
