McAfee alert:Program protector compornent has the trojan?

Postby hydek » Sat Dec 10, 2005 2:54 pm

Hi, Could you please help me?
I'm using the program protector to trial.
However, when I run McAfee virus scan on my pc, McAfee virus scan said,
"This component [Hook TerminateAPIs.dll] is a trojan [Gneric.cb]"

Is the cause of this alert a malfunction of Macafe?

[My Environment]
OS:WinXP SP2 Japanese

McAfee VirusSCAN: Build 9.1.08 :?:
Scan engine: 4.4.00
DAT version: 4.0.4645

Program Protector: 2.1

Thank you for your question.

This is false alarm. McAfee has faults in its detection algorithms, thus it sometimes displays alerts for completely harmless files. If you try other anti virus software, you will see that there is no problem.
