Uniform Server - A lightweight mobile WAMP Server Solution

Postby pmk65 » Wed Mar 07, 2018 11:01 am

The Uniform Server is a free lightweight (portable) WAMP server solution for Windows. Less than 24MB, modular design, includes the latest versions of Apache2, Perl5, PHP (you can switch between PHP versions), MySQL5 or MariaDB5, phpMyAdmin or Adminer4. No installation required! No registry dust! Just unpack and fire up!

+1 This is my daily driver.

I have tested some of the portable WAMP's but I kept coming back to the uniform server.

Unfortunately it's no longer updated (Been more than a year since the last update) and is not on github. :(
And stuff like the GUI interface is hardcoded to work with the versions in the package, so it's very hard to make changes yourself. :x

So I ended up switching to Neard, which is on github and has several active developers. (Uniform Server only have one *absent* developer afik.)
And it's much easier to add other 3rd-parto tools to Neard.

Yes, that's true, there haven't been any updates here for a long time.

I have tested a lot of WAMP but I've never heard of Neard before.
Thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at that.
