Using the deBug

Postby jPaul » Sun Apr 17, 2022 5:21 pm

Hi Everybody,

I'm using RapidPHP 17.3 (17.3.0.244)
PHP version: 7.4.26
Xdebug version 3.1.4

When I load a "*.php" script and attempt to use the deBug tools, The "RUN"; "STOP"; and "TOGGLE BREAKPOINT" buttons are active, but the "STEP OVER"; "STEP INTO"; and "STEP OUT" buttons are all grayed-out and in-active. How can I correct this? ( I want to see how each line will affect variable contents).

A second question would be to ask if there is a resource or manual I can use to learn how to use Xdebug?
Many Thanks,

Paul

You need to create a breakpoint and once the debugger stops at the line, the "step" actions will become active.
The built-in webserver and PHP have X-Debug configured but if you use your own, you will need to configure it to work with RapidPHP.
