64 bit version?

Postby Steve(spt) » Tue Jul 19, 2022 7:29 am

WeBuilder 2022 Version 17.3 (13.3.0.244) - is currently a 32bit program? Will there be a 64 bit version? would it be faster or maker better use of 64 chips?

I know that 32bit software runs fine on 64 bit systems, I'm just asking would there be a 64 bit version at some point?

One other thing when open in task manager what is the chromium_subprocess.exe (32bit) six instances of it running?

64-bit programs have access to more than 2 GB of memory. It is unlikely WeBuilder will need to use more than 2 GB. A 64-bit version wouldn't have a significant benefit.
As for the six instances, most of Chromium is split into individual processes - extensions, spell-check, et al. The benefit is if one process terminates, it doesn't affect the others and can simply restart.
