RogueKiller identifies two WB files as malware

Postby DrGarry » Thu Jan 25, 2024 12:44 pm

Hi There:
I am sure this is a mis-identification, but still better safe than sorry.

WeBuilder 17.6.0.247

The RogueKiller anti-malware app identifies the following two Webuilder files as infected with the malware Prod.Gen:

busl.exe, jsl.exe

The app provides no useful details as to what Prod.Gen is.

Suggestions?

As always in these cases it's best to verify the suspicious files with other tools (because they might in fact get infected by something) and if other tools find nothing, report the false positive to the authors of the anti-malware app.
Some details regarding the files: busl.exe is javascript formatter and jsl.exe is javascript lint/checker. Incidentally we are phasing them both out and replacing the functionality with JavaScript libraries.
