Rapid PHP and Slow/Problematic FTP

Post by adammoro »

Hi all, I love Rapid PHP. It's been a lifesaver for me personally but I'm having an issue with its FTP feature and unfortunately the issue is greatly impeding my workflow. So I'm just wondering if there's a setting (Rapid says in their FAQ to enable Passive FTP yet there doesn't seem to be an option for it..did I miss it?) or if it's an issue I have to live with. To be more specific about the issue, whenever I "Save to FTP" from the toolbar or "Upload to FTP" from the File Explorer right-click menu, the File Transfer windows pops up but just kind of doesn't do anything until it either times out or finally (after about 10 seconds or so) uploads the file. Thanks in advance!

Almost forgot, the version of Rapid I'm using is 9.0.0.97.

You should be able to set the passive flag (off be default I believe) via the 'Options' button in the FTP dialog.

These are instructions for WeBuilder, but it should be the same for RapidPHP.

Thanks, chrisjlocke. I found the setting with that screencast you linked to.

So far, it appears that setting Rapid PHP to use Passive FTP solves the problem I was having.

FTP options are also easily accessible from the File Explorer panel (FTP section).
