Hi team
I just downloaded and upgraded WeBuilder to the latest version (9.5.1.105) and find that my projects will now not load properly. I have 7 previously created projects, all in the same 'master' folder but in separate 'root' folders within that main folder. 4 of the projects, when selected, will not open their root folder but instead open another project's folder. I can browse and reset the root folder in the "Manage Projects' dialogue but this makes no difference. As they all have very similar paths, except for the last folder, I fail to see why these projects will not open their correct corresponding folders. Creating a new project, however, works as expected.
Anyone else having issues with projects?
Cheers

Re: Latest build projects b0rked
Can you list full paths of all failing projects?
Re: Latest build projects b0rked
This is quite a bizarre problem. All of the faulting projects did the same thing; no matter what path I set in the 'Manager Projects' dialogue, they did not stay 'set' and instead opened another project's folder. Recreating the project from scratch fixes the problem; that is, the project path stays set and everything works as expected (I fixed all the faulting projects this way, except this one, to illustrate what is happening). The workaround then is simple but it is strange it happens in the first place.
I have embedded 3 images below. The first shows the path to my chickenhawk project, the second to my PC Anytime Limited project and the third shows the PC Anytime project selected but the chickenhawk project loaded instead.

I hope this makes sense.
Thanks, Dave.

Re: Latest build projects b0rked
Actually I still can not fiigure this out, as I do use exactly the same way of project management. (Mine are under c:\web\project name\)
Probably this has something to do with the new feature that remembers selected path for every project.

It isn't a big deal; the workaround is simple and everything else works as expected. I only mention it so you know something may be awry with it. The fact none else has chimed in makes me think it may just be a my-machine issue.
Thanks for checking it anyway.
Dave.

Re: Latest build projects b0rked
Interestingly, updating to the latest build (106) broke my projects again; what is interesting is that it is the very same projects that broke last time I updated that were affected with this update.
Recreating them is all that is needed to get them working as normal but obviously something is happening to them during the upgrade process.
Just so you know...
Dave.

What I can not understand is why this happens only to you and only to some projects. Any ideas?
Try switching between Project and Files modes for your projects, does it do anything good/bad?

Re: Latest build projects b0rked
Switching between those windows does nothing untoward. Today I opened WE to do some work and found the same project broken again. I edited it to no effect. I deleted it and recreated it but it still switched to another folder so I deleted it, closed WE, reopened it and recreated it. It works OK - for now. But, I then created a new project for a new site I am building and lo and behold this one keeps bouncing back to the project I was having trouble with. Grrrr. I edited it, no effect. I deleted it and recreated it, no effect. I deleted it, closed WB, reopened and recreated; now it works. This is very bizarre. I have nothing unusual running on this machine; it is a meat and potatoes medium spec box running Vista Business. No other programs have any problems running on my machine and indeed WB was fine a few builds back until something changed in the projects area and now this happens.
I can't believe I am the only WB user this is happening to; it also happens on my laptop running Vista Business and a similar subset of programs. There must be others who either haven't come across it yet or who don't frequent the forum. It may also be due to the custom views I have created so I will do some playing around with it to see if I can't track down what is making it happen.
As I mentioned previoulsy, it isn't a major issue but I can see it getting annoying.

Re: Latest build projects b0rked
Well, it seems like a major issue, but it does not happen for me and I have not heard from others too.
I wonder what could be so specific with your configuration... Can you, please, send your projects.ini file to us or list its contents here in forum in the stage where it is broken. Also let us know which ones are broken at that stage.
