Screensaver 5 Video format and procedure help ???

Post by davegreene3 »

Can someone please help me with the procedure for using video in Screensaver 5.

I'm using Apple's Motion to create videos for my screensaver.

I'm saving them as a (.mov) file.

Opening it in Apple Quicktime and exporting it as an (avi) file.

The first time when I imported it into screensaver factory, it worked.
After that when I imported videos into screensaver 5 the video comes up blank.

I'm not sure what the settings were that made it work.

Can someone please share with me the procedure and formats to get my videos to work
in Screensaver 5.

Thanks in advance.

Any chance to save files not in AVI but WMV format? While WMV is Windows Media Video which is a popular format. AVI can be any video format with AVI extension (AVI files can contain videos compressed in various formats).

If you convert MOV to AVI, you can try various compression formats until you find one that works.

Somebody in Apple forums recomended http://www.squared5.com/ software for opening MOV and converting to other video formats.

Hey K,

I downloaded the MPEG Streamclip software from squared5.com, and it worked like a dream. :-)

Great quality too.

Thanks again man... it's very cool to have support that rocks!!!
