default settings for tidy tasks

Post by Canyon Wolf »

Is there a list of the default settings (or a way to reset them) for each of the Tidy Tasks that come with the current HTML Pad 2010?

I am getting some really odd results and want to make sure I have not changed anything to create the problem before I report bugs.

Perhaps I should also make sure I have an uncorrupted Tidy - what is the version of Tidy that should be used with this software and how should I go about confirming I have a properly functioning version?

The oddest behavior is stripping the DOC type from the beginning of the file when writeback is enabled - and it does not report any errors. If I disable writeback I get no results at all (file is unchanged) - even when I intentionally make errors it should catch. Never had this type of problem using Homesite with it's built-in Tidy, so I am not sure what is going on.

I write web pages using only XHTML 1.0 Strict & CSS - however, I am not a programmer! Please help.

Nothing has changed in Tidy area since even 2007. And we can not guarantee or support the operation of tidy because it is a third party tool.

You can revert to the original by re-installing the software but I doubt that will help if you haven't changed any settings. You can try to check tidy docs and do some experimenting, probably that helps.
