Can I pw protect "Control Panel"?

Also, Im evaluating the demo version, but can get the drag&drop feature to work. Should it work? or just in the registered version?

You can protect Windows executable files (programs) only. This includes any Windows program, but not special Windows system components.

Drag and drop works for program shortcuts only.
