I would like to create a button, but not one of the button templates.

But I can find nothing to create a customer button!???

I think you mean a custom button, right? Arrrrgh! I take this back. I found the custom option "AFTER" you add on of the existing template buttons. So, you can already make custom buttons. I didn't find this custom option in the help section in the tool. I suppose its in there somewhere.

Now I wonder, do we have the ability to have user-defined templates along with custom buttons?

You can create buttons from your own images (Add button > open Button Style > click Use Custom Button Images).

We are planning to make this feature more visible in the next version, since currently it is evidently difficult to find. The button is kind of unnoticeable.
