Much less interface color under Vista

Post by FrankC »

Hi,

With the exact same installation files I installed Word 2003 and WB 2011 on a Vista and an XP laptop. On the Vista machine, WB's interface has much less color, as can be seen here:

Of course I checked and double checked that both WB's were set to the same interface, Modern. In the Classic and Standard setting they look the same, but in Modern there is a big difference - under Vista only a slight gray-white gradient, while under XP a colorful blue gradient is added. How can I get that in Vista, too?

Just to confirm that the same thing is happening for me on Windows 7.

This is due a new GUI introduced by Microsoft in Windows Vista / 7. Note that Microsoft Office uses custom GUI and that’s why it looks the same on any Windows.
