PHP- / HTML-Reference

Post by HansDieter »

I'm regulary working in places (like traveling by train) where no online conection is available. So i need a offline reference. For PHP i can select between both online and offline reference. For the HTML reference i unfortunatly can't find such a option.

Other hand i prefere always the online references because they are always up to date.

I therefore suggest for both the HTML- and the PHP-reference an option where you select an online reference as primery source and when there is no online conection available it automaticly falls back to an local, file based version (html, chm, pdf, ....)

HTML reference can be downloaded from the official W3.org website as a set of HTML files: http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/
PHP manuals can be downloaded form the PHP.net: http://www.php.net/download-docs.php

Yes, i know this sources, but what i'm looking for, is an option to integrate this downloaded reference manuals in WeBuilder's HELP-Menu, like the existing links to the online versions, so it can easyly be lanched from within WeBuilder without fumbling thru Windows startmenu.

The most comfortable way would be, if there would be a link for example for "HTML REFERENCE". If you select it, WeBuilder checks if an Online connection is availible. If yes it launches the online reference, if not the local downloaded copy.

Best Regards
Hans

As an afterthought, an option to intgrate your on documentation link (for example to launch an tutorial of some kind) would be as well an very nice feature
