Allow sites - streaming video question

Post by Peter1976 »

I'm trying to block everything except a few sites that I add to the allow sites list.

One example: http://www.ardmediathek.de/tv

I use wildcard *ardmediathek*

with Internet Access Restricted I select one of the video clips on the site and get a second of the videoclip, just a quick image displayed and then I get an error message in the video window about a missing flash plug in.

Another thing I'm curious is Wikipedia. I don't quite unterstand the allow secure websites service. If I check that I can access everything on wikipedia, but I also have access to Google search engine which I want blocked. Any strategy tips?

Thanks!

If you want to block HTTPS by hosts, you should try Surfblocker instead of iNet Protector.

Regarding video files - it's very common to host the videos on some other site than the page itself. You can use Learning Mode to find out where the video files are hosted (and automatically allow these sites if you want).
