Hi Aivars,
I can see that there is CSS Grid syntax and auto correct built in for grids but the preview does not render the layout correctly. It shows as if a non supported browser.

Use Chrome for previewing (look for IE/Chrome icons in Preview toolbar). IE preview does not support grids.

Aivars, does this mean that I have to install Chrome to preview css grid properly in RPHP 2018? If so, are there no alternative solutions?

You don't need to install it, it comes bundled. Look for Chrome icon in Preview toolbar.
