RAPID 2020 - Drag & Drop Crash
Dragging a file from a Windows 10 Explorer Window to a folder in Rapid's Folder List crashes Rapid PHP 2020 16.1.0.227.

Just crashes it as in 'This application is not responding' or with an error?

To me, "crash" means the program stops running with no indication of why. No error message, no hang, just gone.
That's what happened here. It's repeatable.

Hi Will. I'm trying to see if I can replicate your error in WeBuilder, but what do you mean by "Folder List" ?Will Fastie wrote:Dragging a file from a Windows 10 Explorer Window to a folder in Rapid's Folder List crashes Rapid PHP 2020 16.1.0.227.
Is that the list of files/folders in the File Explore panel? (In WeBuilder dragging to File Explorer panel is disallowed.)

That's not a good thing to hear. It would not have occurred to me that drag and drop in the File Explorer was prohibited. Works in PhpStorm. Works in Visual Studio Code. Works in Expression Web.pmk65 wrote:In WeBuilder dragging to File Explorer panel is disallowed.

Drag & drop to File Explorer is allowed and I can't reproduce your issue. If you can still remember, was there anything specific about the file you were dragging?

Re: RAPID 2020 - Drag & Drop Crash
I reported this issue for 16.1.0.227. In that version, it did not matter what type of file, size, name, extension, or anything - Rapid crashed every time. 100% repeatable.
I just tried 16.2.0.229 and was unable to duplicate the problem.
I just installed 16.3.0.231 and got mixed results. The first time I launched .231 it would not allow any drag and drop operations at all. Then I restarted it and it allowed the drag and drop, but it also opened the file at the same time. I don't think that is a desirable behavior. After all, if the file I'm dragging in is an image, opening it doesn't make sense.
Also with .231, when I drag multiple files Rapid opens only one of them. thus I think the open on drag in is broken.

I honestly don't understand what's going on because I can't reproduce any of that. I'll try on more different computers.

If you want, and as soon as I have time, I can make a little video and leave it on my site somewhere.

Sure, maybe I'll notice something to try from the video.

Re: RAPID 2020 - Drag & Drop Crash
Was this running it from the installer? if the program was run by the installer, it'd be under a different user, so dragging and dropping (from an Explorer instance as your original user) wouldn't work - you can't drag 'n drop between different users. Will Fastie wrote:I just installed 16.3.0.231 and got mixed results.
