Preview multiple php projects

Post by Graham »

I have Apache set up on my pc to preview php pages. It works fine for a single site mapping My Webs\mysite\ to http://localhost:8080/. However, when I try and use the VirtualHost feature of Apache it only works for the main site, not the secondary sites. I have tried various mappings including site names in place of localhost but so far to no avail. Any clues, anyone?

Each virtual host must have its own domain. Localhost can be assigned to one host only. Others must have differrent domain names and these should be used in mappings.

Thanks. For anyone else who encounters this problem the answer for me was:
1. Apend local server names in the hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc:
127.0.0.1 shepsplacelocal
127.0.0.1 passionateobserverslocal
2. In Apache httpd.conf file use same server names in virtualhost containers:
<VirtualHost *:8080>
ServerName shepsplacelocal
otherstuff
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *:8080>
ServerName passionateobserverslocal
otherstuff
</VirtualHost>
3. In WeBuilder Options>Preferences>Preview>Mappings map document folders to:
http://shepsplacelocal:8080/
http://passionateobserverslocal:8080/
