Which program here is best for wordpress?

Post by dynocat »

I've used HTMLPad for a few years with various sitebuilders. I'm now delving into wordpress and wondering if I should have Rapid PHP instead. Could I then download a copy of my wp site to my computer and use that to work on it before uploading it back to the site?

I have Windows XP Home, WordPress 3.31 hosted on Bluehost.

Thanks for any advice.

Yes, Rapid PHP or WeBuilder would be better suited for editing the files rather than the basic HTMLPad. As an existing customer - you should be legible for upgrade pricing.

You could download your WP site to your computer and edit it there and upload it, yes.

Both HTMLPad and Rapid PHP are from Blumentals Software, but Rapid PHP has additional features tailored for PHP development and dynamic websites like WordPress. Here’s how the two compare for WordPress work:

HTMLPad: Great for editing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files. It's a lighter editor compared to Rapid PHP, so it’s good if you’re mostly doing front-end work but doesn’t have the deeper integration with PHP or WordPress-specific tools.

Rapid PHP: Specifically designed for PHP, WordPressbasketball stars, and dynamic sites. It offers better PHP support, code completion, and debugging tools that are particularly useful for WordPress development. It also comes with WordPress templates and integrated tools for managing PHP-based projects. If you're working with PHP-heavy sites like WordPress, Rapid PHP would be a good upgrade.
