It's a discomfort that there is no "button" available to check if new updates are available. Right now it is really complicated to find out about new releases and/or updates.
I was just about to request a "check for updates" button or better yet a pop-up dialog that says an update is available. Then I stumbed upon this posting. This request seems to be a year old but its a good idea now as back then. I hope it gets implemented someday.
