"learn mode" for list of allowed sites...

While its easy to type in addresses into the list of allowed sites its not always intuitive or complete. For example, if you add "cnn.com" to the list you will find that the www.cnn.com doesn't load correctly. I think its because cnn brings in other sites (some is content, some is advertising). FYI if you add both cnn.com and cnn.net you will get most of cnn to load but not all of it.

I think what I would like would be a "learn" mode for inet protect. I tell inet "watch me" and I then surf to sites that are to be allowed. Everything that I touch or that is brought in, inet protect adds to its list. By doing this, I'm simply surfing but inet is busy recording this into the exception list(s).

Sounds good, but the downside to this, is if you accidentally stumble into a porn pop-up hell website!! It'll could add dozens of sites you didn't want added.

Maybe a method of importing your current 'History', or selected websites from it...

Certainly carelessness could occur as parent surfs around.
A truely easy way around that would be when you click the button to take it out of "learn" mode a popup dialog box asks "save these changes? y/n".
If a mistake was made simply click "no" and Inet remains configured as before.

For me that would be enough protection against mistakes.

as a side note.
It would be helpful if exception record included two fields: "timestamp"
and "comment". These of course would be optional but if filled in it might help remind parents later why the exception record exists.
In the case of "learn" mode the comment would be the same for all records of the learn session. timestamp of course is sysdate.
