Default view option / Tabs on top option

Is there an option (or do you plan to introduce it) to set a default view mode? I prefer horizontal view but whenever I open a new file I have to switch from Code Editor view again (and again...).

Oh and an option to have tabs on top for those who are used to seeing them there?

If they exists somewhere I was not able to find them!

You can drag the tabs to the top and drop them there. I don't know about the view question.

Thanks but it doesn't work for me, I cannot drag them (well I can drag but not drop). Do we both mean open document tabs?

click the little dotted line on the far far left of the tab bar and drag it to the upper menu area.
